Honey/Golden Calcite
Sphere
Size: Approximately 2.5 inches diameter
Here is a little treasure that I found while at a Metaphysical Fair. It is a mineral sphere that when I saw it, my mouth watered. *lol* It is made of golden calcite. I describe the sphere as displaying bursts of rainbows all over the place inside of it. When turned under the light in a certain way, it will display a burst that looks like the big bang.
There is no way that I could get a photograph of just how beautiful it is, but I did get to capture some glimpses of the rainbows when I was taking all of my pictures.

In this photo above you can see a swirling veil moving through the specimen. Turned in a different direction it will disappear completely, and turned in another direction it will become a burst of rainbow.

In this next photo above, I was able to capture the rainbow burst from the right side. When viewing it three dimensionally which can't be done in a photograph, of course, it looks like a galaxy with stars of pure light and it will extend and expand. This is one of the more awesome specimens that I have found. It is a really amazing thing to be looking at something that is radiating pure light and it looks like stars!

From this angle you can see more of the veils. In the photo it looks more solid, but as it sits naturally, these veils are more or less invisible. It's interesting to see this stone in two dimensions. Within all of the veils, the camera didn't pick this up very well, but there are rainbows shooting out all over the place. If you look closely you can see little dots of them here and there but they actually light up the ball and my camera won't pick up the colors as any more than little dots.

More pictures of some of the veiling on the inside. At this angle there appears to be a huge whorling swirl of rainbow reflections and it's very lacy.
This specimen isdefinitely one of my favorites. It is kept on my significant others' desk in the office. He has quite the setup of spheres on his desk, too, with 7 of them. I haven't photographed any of those yet!
