The Ten Commandments
I am the Lord thy God, ... Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images.
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy
Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long.
Thou shalt not kill.
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Thou shalt not steal
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house.
Old Testament, Exodus 20,1-17.
The Ten Commitments (New Age)
1. You shall love God with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul. And there shall be no other God set before Me. No longer will you worship human love, or success, money, or power, nore any symbol thereof. You will set aside these things as a child sets aside toys. Not because they are unworthy, but because you have outgrown them.
And you shall know you have taken the path to God because:
2. You shall not use the name of God in vain. Nor will you call upon Me for frivolous
things. You will understand the power of words, and of thoughts, and you would not think
of invoking the name of God in an unGodly manner. You shall not use My name in vain
because you cannot. For My name--the Great "I AM"--is never used in vain (that
is, without result) nor can it ever be.
And when you have found God you shall know this. And I shall give you these signs as well:
3. You shall remember to keep a day for Me, and you shall call it holy. This, so that you
do not long stay in your illusion, but cause yourself to remember who and what you are.
And then shall you call every day the Sabbath, and every moment holy.
4. You shall honor your mother and your father-and you will know you are the Son of God
when you honor your Father/Mother God in all that you say do or think. And even as you so
honor the Mother/Father God, and your father and mother on Earth (for they have given you
life so too will you honor everyone.
5. You know you have found God when you observe that you will not murder (that is,
willfully kill, without cause). For while you will understand that you cannot end anothers
life in any event (all life is eternal), you will not choose to terminate any particular
carnation, nor change in any life energy from one form to another, without the most sacred
justification. Your new reverence for life will cause you to honor all life
forms--including plants, trees and animals--and to impact them only when it is for the
highest good.
And these other signs will I send you also, the you may know you are on the path:
6. You will not defile the purity of love with dishonesty or deceit, for this is
adulterous. I promise you , when you have found God you shall not commit this adultery.
7. You will not take a thing that is not your own, nor cheat, nor connive, nor harm
another to have anything, for this would be to steal. I promise you when you have found
God, you shall not steal. Nor shall you...
8. Say a thing that is not true, and thus bear false witness. Nor shall you...
9. Covet your neighbors spouse, for why would you want your neighbor's spouse when you
know all others are your spouse?
10. Covet your neighbor's goods, for why would you wandt your neighbor's goods when you
know that all goods can be yours, and all your goods belong to the world? You will know
that you have found the path to God when you see these signs, for I promise that no one
who truly seeks God shall any longer do these things...These are your freedoms not your
restrictions. These are my commitments not my commandments. For God does not order about
what God has Created--God merely tells God's children: this is how you will know that you
are coming home."

The Wiccan Rede
Bide the Wiccan Laws we must
In Perfect Love and Perfect Trust.
Live and let live,
Fairly take and fairly give.
Cast the Circle thrice about
To keep the evil spirits out.
To bind the spell every time
Let the spell be spake in rhyme.
Soft of eye and light of touch,
Speak little, listen much.
Deosil go by the waxing moon,
Chanting out the Witches' Rune.
Widdershins go by the waning moon,
Chanting out the baneful rune.
When the Lady's moon is new,
Kiss the hand to her, times two.
When the moon rides at her peak,
Then your heart's desire seek.
Heed the North wind's mighty gale,
Lock the door and drop the sail.
When the wind comes from the South
Love will kiss thee on the mouth.
When the wind blows from the West,
Departed souls will have no rest.
When the wind blows from the East,
Expect the new and set the feast.
Nine woods in the cauldron go,
Burn them fast and burn them slow.
Elder be the Lady's tree,
Burn it not or cursed you'll be.
When the Wheel begins to turn,
Let the Beltane fires burn.
When the Wheel has turned to Yule,
Light the log and the Horned One rules.
Heed ye Flower, Bush and Tree,
By the Lady, blessed be.
Where the rippling waters go,
Cast a stone and truth you'll know
When ye have a true need,
Hearken not to others' greed.
With a fool no season spend,
Lest ye be counted as his friend.
Merry meet and merry part,
Bright the cheeks and warm the heart.
Mind the Threefold Law you should,
Three times bad and three times good.
When misfortune is enow,
Wear the blue star on thy brow.
True in Love ever be,
Lest thy lover's false to thee.
Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill:
An ye harm none, do what ye will.
The Vedic Epiphany (Hindu)
I. Dawn and Birth. Preparation for emergence into existence, the tilling of the ground, or
preexistence and bursting into being, into life.
II. Germination and Growth. The beginning, the striving, the affirmation of identity, the
settling down in the realm of existence.
III. Blossoming and Fullness. The acme, the reaching of plenitude, of maturity, the
zenith.
IV. Fall and Decay. The beginning of the downward path, the discovery that nothing resists
the acids of time and that nobody is immune from the corrosion of existence.
V. Death and Dissolution. The destiny of all existing things, and the price that must be
paid for having been alive and for having been a bearer of existence in time and space.
VI. New Life and Freedom. The marvelous mystery of being, the reemergence of life out of
the ordeal of death, the disclosure that life is immortal, that being is unfathomable, and
that bliss and reality are capable of self-renewal.
VII. Twilight. The last part of this anthology, like the ribbon that ties the bouquet, has
an altogether different character from the rest. It binds together all that has been
explained and integrates all that has been described. It brings back the living unity that
the glare of the single aspects may have endangered.
Native American Traditional Code of Ethics
1. Each morning upon rising and each evening before sleeping, give thanks for
the life within you and all life, for the good things the Creator has given you and for
the opportunity to grow a little more each day. Consider your thoughts and actions of the
past day and seek for the courage and strength to be a better person. Seek for the things
what will benefit others (everyone).
2. Respect: Respect means "to feel honor or esteem for someone or something, to
consider the well being of, or to treat someone or something with deference or
courtesy". Showing respect is a basic law of life.
a. Treat every person from the tiniest child to the oldest elder with respect at all
times.
b. Special respect should be given to Elders, Parents, Teachers and Community Leaders.
c. No person should be made to feel "Put Down" by you: avoid hurting others
hearts as you would avoid a deadly poison.
d. Touch nothing that belongs to someone else (especially Sacred Objects) without
permission, or an understanding between you.
e. Respect the privacy of every person, never intrude on a person's quiet moment or
personal space.
f. Never walk between people that are conversing.
g. Never interrupt people that are conversing.
h. Speak in a soft voice, especially when you are in the presence of Elders, Strangers or
others to whom special respect is due.
i. Do not speak unless invited to do so at gatherings where Elders are present( except to
ask what is expected of you, should you be in doubt).
j. Never speak about others in a negative way, whether they are present or not.
k. Treat the Earth and all her aspects as your mother. Show deep respect for the mineral
world, the plant world, and the animal world. Do nothing to pollute our mother, rise up in
wisdom to defend her.
l. Show deep respect for the beliefs and religion of others.
m. Listen with courtesy to what others say, even if you feel that what they are saying is
worthless. Listen with your heart.
n. Respect the wisdom of the people in council. Once you give an idea to a council meeting
it no longer belongs to you. It belongs to the people. Respect demands that you listen
intently to the ideas of others in council and that you do not insist that your idea
prevail. Indeed you should freely support the ideas of others if they are true and good,
even if those ideas are quite different from the ones you have contributed. This clash of
ideas brings forth the Spark of Truth.
3. Once a council has decided something in unity, respect demands that no one speak
secretly against what has been decided. If the council has made an error, that error will
become apparent to everyone in its own time.
4. Be truthful at all times, under all conditions.
5. Always treat your guests with honor and consideration. Give of your best food, your
best blankets, the best part of your house, and your best service to your guests.
6. The hurt of one is the hurt of all, the honor of one is the honor of all.
7. Recieve strangers and outsiders with a loving heart and as members of the human family.
8. All the races and tribes in the world are like the different colored flowers of one
meadow. All are beautiful. As children of the Creator they must all be respected.
9. To serve others, to be of some use to family community, nation and the world is one of
the main purposes for which human beings have been created. Do not fill yourself with your
own affairs and forget your most important tasks. True happiness comes only to those who
dedicate their lives to the service of others.
10. Observe moderation and balance in all things.
11. Know those things that lead to your well-being, and those things that lead to your
destuction.
12. Listen to and follow the guidance given to your heart. Expect Guidance to come in many
forms; in prayer, in dreams, in times of quiet solitude, and in the words and deeds of
wise Elders and friends.
